IC: Hakari
"Okay...if you're sure..." Hakari let out a sigh of relief.
"I don't usually fall on top of people I've just met, I'll have to make it up to you."
Ic:
"Make it up to me..?"
o-o
IC: Hakari
"Yeah...but how?" Hakari looked deep in thought for a moment.
"Oh I know, I can show you around Le-koro! I can tell this your first time being here right?" He looked so lost before, he probably didn't know his way around.
Ic:
"No... I was actually trying to get to Ta-koro this way but-"
He swallowed his words.
"Lead on! I don't know the next time I'll be back, so I'd love to get a tour." ![]()
IC: Hakari
"Alright! Let's ride the chute system!" Hakari grabbed the unsuspecting Matoran's hand and started running toward the nearest chute, her Kakama activated, making her speed off rather quickly with the Matoran in tow.
IC: Rune
"Well, I think that settles it."
The Vo-Toa leaned backwards, then forwards, and used the later's momentum to push herself up into the air and onto her feet.
"Hey, uh..." she was about to ask the silver-armored Toa to carry the unconscious Ba-Toa into the village, but realized she hadn't asked his name.
"What do I call you?" she inquired, offering a hand to pull him to his feet, given his drunken state.
IC: Detrix
He didn't register what the hand was doing being held in his face, so he looked at it for a moment then stood by himself, stumbling as he tried to obtain a solid stance.
"My name is Detrix. How about you?" He then shook the hand that was being held out to him quite aggressively.
Ic:
Koura's feet left the ground as Hakari's mask activated, literally being pulled behind her.
IC: Marda
As they walked, Marda noticed that Zaara seemed to be looking uneasy. It was a look she had seen often with others she travelled with, the look of uncertainty that came with travelling with strangers. She just looked over at Zaara and smiled.
"Something on your mind, sweetie?" she asked.
Ooc: Ryzen and Akhulli from Ta
IC: Ryzen
I turned to Akhulii. "I'm guessing we might be in Le wahi territory now. It seems...a lot cooler now."
IC: Zaara.
"I've got lots of things on my mind," Zaara said, almost apologetically, "foremost being what am I doing on this island?"
IC: Varan
Varan hauled Zeth up onto his other shoulder, now supporting the weight of him and Anhar. He had to grin a bit a the Detrix character.
"Hello, Detrix - I'm Varan, in case you hadn't already heard." He winked. "If you two don't mind, I'll accompany you into Le-Koro."
IC (Sisk):
The Kahu in the lead was imposing, wearing armor on it's head made obviously out of Rahkshi parts. The Matoran in the pilot's saddle was wearing a Zatth and had Guko Force markings painted on his armor. Sisk looked at the gathered crowd. He had been informed of the developing situation just a short while earlier and as the commanding officer of all the non-combat Gukko Force units, he had mobilized as many birds from the headquarter and the nearest outposts to assist in the efforts to protect the village.
"All volunteers in need of a lift, we will be flying you out to the defensive lines and drop you off there!" he announced loudly. "We will be establishing an airbridge flying back and forth in waves to get everybody who wants to travel by air out to where they need to be. Three people per Kahu, two per Gukko."
IC, Verdi: Just then, a smaller bird, a Gukko, dived out of the sky and landed next to Sisk and his bird. "Hey Sisk! I'm here to help you!" said Verdi. He turned to the people gathered. "Alright, I can take two volunteers at a time. Who's first?"
OOC: Just trying to get Verdi moving again, so I decided to help, if you don't mind ![]()
IC: Hakari
They came to a sudden stop when the reached a chute entrance.
"Ohhhh this is gonna be fun! You'll love this."
Ic:
"... How does it work? Do I need to hold my breath or anything?" The young Koura asked, peering into the chute
IC: Hakari
"Like this..." Hakari pushed him in.
Ic:
Before Koura could even react, the chute picked him up and carried him away from Hakari.
There was a lot of panicked screaming as he had no idea what was going on anymore.
IC: Hakari
With a giggle, Hakari jumped in, following just behind Koura.
Ic:
After what seemed to be an eternity of tumbling about and screaming his head off, the chute finally came to an end, dropping the matoran into nothingness.
Or what would seem like that anyway, if it wasn't for the very large area he landed in. Taking the moment to try to reorient himself to solid ground, he could understand that he had fallen into some sort of nest or the like...
IC: Hakari
Hakari came out of the chute moments later, giggling as she did. After a moment she took in her surroundings.
"Hmmm...I don't think they usually have bird nests here..."
Ic:
"B-bird nests..?" he asked, slowly sitting upright, "what sortof bird..?"
IC: Hakari
"Big ones!"
Ic:
Considering how he was a small matoran, Koura didn't look comfortable with that thought.
"Well then... How do we get out of this nest then?"
IC: Hakari
"Yeah that's probably a go-"
A big old Gukko landed in the nest, looking the two of them over.
Ic:
"... What do we do now..?" Koura whispered, frozen in place at the sight of the bird.
IC: Hakari
"Hold perfectly still...." Hakari said.
The Gukko squacked.
IC:
"You can call me Rune." the Vo-Toa replied, slipping her diminutive hand out of Detrix's crushing grip after an awkward moment of violent shaking.
"Um, off we go then?" she asked while reeling in her muddied coil from the swamp. She wrapped it around her right shoulder unenthusiastically.
IC: Detrix
"I hope you're not one of them lightweights," he said, slightly joking. "What do you do for a living? Something honest? Something not so honest? Or maybe in the middle," he said as he started to verbalize his thoughts as they were wandering around the path of drunkeness.
IC: Iegasa
"When was the colony established?"
IC: Akhulii
"Must be right at home, eh?" chuckled Akhulii in response. But then he did notice the change in climate. Ta-Wahi was much warmer than here, and there was a nice breeze here. It felt nicer to him, for he was used to the cooler climates on the water. Ta-Wahi was simply much too hot for his liking.
As they walked, the trees started becoming more numerous and closer together. The area started getting filled with a vibrant and pretty green, and thick tree roots and rocks poked out of the ground.
Akhulii suddenly tripped on one and landed on his face, causing his mask to pop off. He popped back up and put his mask back on. "This place is way too wild for my tastes. How are our food reserves?"
Ic:
Koura did his best to stay still, although to him it was more like he was paralyzed in fear.
IC: Kelz and Ryza.
"It's about time," Kelz said exasperatedly to himself, when the tide had finally risen enough for the Wayward Wind to be freed from the isolated cove is had been stuck in. "Now, let's get the karz out of here." he grabbed he wheel, tried to steer the ship, and that was when there came n awful grinding sound from below decks as the bottom of the ship scraped along the sandbar they'd been trapped on earlier. Kelz had been impatient; the tide hadn't risen enough yet for them to safely make their escape.
"You, my dear brother, are an idiot," Ryza snapped, storming onto deck, dripping with water. "You've ripped a giant bloody hole in the bottom of the ship! It's going to take ages to repair!"
The ship floundered, tipping to one side before coming to rest at an angle, titling the deck. Kelz floundered to keep a hold of the wheel, cursing every god and demon he could think of.
He was already starting to hate this island.
IC: Marda
Marda smiled. She knew exactly how Zaara felt, albeit in a different way.
"I understand." she said, thinking back to her first days after...her escape. "It's like you've been thrown out in the ocean and told to swim, but you've never even seen water before. How can you be expected to survive when you don't even know why you're here to begin with?" she said, stopping to turn to the Su-Toa. "Just remember this. One day something will happen, something big and wonderful and terrible, something that you never even thought was possible, and when it does you'll know." she said kindly.
IC: Zaara.
Zaara blinked slowly, thinking over Marda's words. Everything happens for a reason, she reminded herself. Somehow, she knew she'd once said that often, back in the time before she'd arrived on this island. It was the truth, after all...
Finally, she nodded gratefully to Marda, "Thank you. I guess... I'll look forward to that day."
IC: Ryzen
I checked our bags. "Enough for a day or three if we're lucky. And I'm sure you'll get used to this, ah, wildness. It's all around us."
IC: Rune
"I'd say somewhere along the middle." she said, not intent on going into detail. For her, that was the kind question she didn't really know the answer to. Ever since she quit her work in the Gukko force, her life had been one of stagnant uncertainty.
As the trio made their way along the path to Le-Koro, the trees thinned out significantly due to the insects, and Rune's brow began to furrow in genuine concern. Entropy beetles weren't known to take down entire lengths of forest. There was something very wrong.
IC: Hakari
The Gukko moved it's beak closer to the two of them, looking more curious than anything else, it cocked it's head.
Hakari mimicked the bird, moving her head to the side.
"I think it's trying to communicate...."
Ic:
"Sorry Hakari, but uh- I don't speak it's language."
IC: Hakari
Hakari cocked her head to the other side, the Gukko did the same.
"I think this means hello....can't be sure though..."
Ic:
"Can you ask it to let us go? I can't say being this close to 'em is making me feel happy inside..."
