  • OOC: Quick announcement. After discussing with staff, I’ve been granted the authority to treat this as a proper staff boss fight, *with the exception of being able to inflict permanent injury or death. This entails some minor instances of bunnying to keep the narrative and flow of combat going without taking too much time, while making the process of managing a large scale fight more practical and realistic. This also means that, within reason, I can decide whether your character gets injured or not*. Normally staff would run this fight but they’re busy, so I’ve been given the responsibility of treating powerful NPCs as the threat they're supposed to be while operating under strict restrictions.

If you have any complaints and/or want to address the implications in further detail, PM me, hit me up on Skype or have a chat with staff. Ultimately, if I make a show of foul play and power abuse, a GM will step in and take over but if you’re hoping for an easier, fairer fight out of it, I can guarantee that whatever they’ll put out will make my efforts pale in comparison.

tl;dr: this is a boss fight and it will be run the way boss fights have been run for the past four years*

    IC:

Unfortunately for Arvas, he had misjudged his foe. The moment the spear struck his shield and he began to force it away, it retracted with the speed of a rubber band snapping back into place, ready to defend against a follow-up while he pushed against nothing. The Rahkshi of Elasticity parried his blow by deflecting it to the side, leaving the Fe-Toa’s arms outstretched and his torso wide open. Immediately, its mechanical hand gripped his forearm and swung him around with incredible force, never letting go while its arm stretched out, further and further until he crashed into the cavern wall with a solid thunk. Through the pain and bits of rock falling onto him, he felt the Rahkshi let go and heard a defiant shriek headed his way as it approached to finish the job.

The Chameleon Rahkshi’s staff pierced the air, missing the Toa of fire by inches as he soared to safety. It hissed in surprise, eyes following Peho up to the roof of the cave, then back down to the immediate threats approaching its exposed rear. Having taken advantage of the opportunity before it even presented itself, Toshiko was already midway in her attack before realizing that Hammerlock was yelling her name and crying out warnings. Abruptly, blistering heat set the Vortixx’s world aflame when two pillars of fire came crashing down on her and the Rahkshi, briefly engulfing them both. The Rahkshi’s shrill cry reverberated against the Mangaia’s walls, and when the flames dissipated, only blackened soil remained where it once stood.

However, Hammerlock noticed the creature’s escape. It circled around fast, its camouflaged shape little more than a smoking distortion in the atmosphere. Once it had drawn enough distance, the shimmering stopped. The absence of movement would have left the Rahkshi an imperceptible detail in the dim light had the Vo-Lesterin not been tracking its retreat. Oddly enough, the hit and run tactic it employed twice now was nowhere to be seen. Instead, it simply stood there, blending in with its environment.

Oceanna’s cry echoed throughout the cave, signalling to the Rahkshi of Laser Vision that Flabbergaster wasn’t its only concern. It looked over its shoulder to see Rannin running right towards it, hissing in annoyance. The Rahkshi spun around but something grabbed its feet and rooted it to the ground, leaving it stuck halfway in its turn with its left side facing Rannin and its right facing Flabbergaster. Forced into an awkward position with no time to dig itself out, the Rahkshi hurriedly brought its staff up to block the Toa of iron’s swing but failed miserably to compensate for the mammoth strength driving his sword's edge. The blade bit into the staff and drove it back until the sheer force swept the Rahkshi off its feet and out of Oceanna’s grasp. The Rahkshi flew into the path’s inner wall with a loud crash before falling onto its hands and knees, momentarily stunned, and the most it could do was look up and fire a few laser beams in all directions to ward anyone off while it scrambled back to its feet.

Volin, quietly observing the battlefield from afar, kept a lookout for danger and any opportune moment to strike. Arvas getting flung around like a ragdoll warranted most of his attention, shifting his aim to the tan Rahkshi advancing upon the vulnerable Toa of iron. Finger on the trigger, he felt its push as he pulled against it, and just as he was about to fire, he heard a scream that sent his heart plummeting into his stomach. Whirling around, a white Rahkshi bursted out from the darkness that led them to this chamber, its manic red eyes focused on him. Panic-stricken, he fired a bolt at the menace but it batted the projectile away effortlessly, roaring in a hate-fuelled rage that would make a Kane-Ra whimper in fear.

Volin had no time to reload his crossbow, so he flung plasma in the Rahkshi’s direction. Like his bolt, the Rahkshi had no problem avoiding them, and in mere seconds it would be upon him. Volin knew he wouldn’t stance a chance if it came down to head-on duel between them, so he began to take a few steps back.

    Guys!"

The Rahkshi of Laser vision was stunned, but who knew how long that would last, now was the time to strike while it was vulnerable! The Rahkshi was firing laser beams all over, but since Oceanna was flying it was a rather simple matter to avoid any that came her direction, she certainly had no trouble seeing in the cavern, she was right at home underground. Once she was satisfied she was in a spot safe from the laser beams she summoned her powers once again, arms made of earth grasped for the Rahkshi's limbs in order to hold it in place once again. Oceanna looked towards Rannin once she had done this.

"Hit the with everything you got! I want to see blood! Blooooooooooooooooooood!" She had forgotten that Rahkshi didn't have blood.

Suddenly, two people flew into the fight - one doing so nicely and with actual tactics, and the other screaming at the top of her lungs and flailing or something. The Rahkshi was well beaten back, and Flabbergaster definitely doubted that its back side was as strong as-

One of the blasts skimmed straight towards him. Not being able to dodge fully in time, he did his best to avoid it as the searing hot beam arced across his shoulder, leaving a noticeably large burn. Hope it's a 2nd degree hope it's a 2nd degree, he thought to himself, as he heavily resisted the urge to grab at the painful area and instead pumped blood quickly through himself, shooting both fists out and down like bullets in an attempt to pin the Rahkshi to the ground with sheer force.

A cry. A cry of help. Well, forget using that staff, he'd have to rush over as soon as this ended.

  • Toshiko- Rahkshi Hunters

IC: I screamed as the battlefire briefly washed over me. Reacting more by instinct than conscious though I turned the slash into a sideways roll that brought me out of the immediate danger zone.

Luckily the Rahkshi had vacated the immediate area, all that was left where it had been standing was a circle of scorched rock and I had a fair suspicion that it could have survived even if it had decided to simply take the fire head on. Whatever the case it allowed me a couple seconds to catch my breath and take stock of the situation.

From the feel of it I had at least second degree burns over a very large portion of my body. The sharp pain of them causing me to grind my teath and my anger to flare. I was going to break Peho's jaw when we got back to the surface.

    Bare minimum.

Sweet, sweet adrenalin would prevent me from collapsing in agony for the moment but I was going to require some serious attention once that wore off. For the moment though I was able to take my bag of lightstones and sweep it through the air, sending its contents flying across the combat zone in an arc of golden light. The darkness may have been more potent down here but with that many light sources it should be enough to let people see clearly.

  • IC:Arvas

Arvas stood back up, shrugging off a small chunk of rock that had landed on his shoulder.

"Right then. Two can play at that game, you scum-sucking tin can." he snarled.

Arvas lowered the Greatsword off his shoulder, releasing it from his shield hand's grip. As he did so the blade shortened and widened, losing one of the blades while the other thickened, and curved slightly towards the tip. The handle, meanwhile, shot outwards, using the newly freed-up mass to extent drastically. A series of spiral spikes, meanwhile, seemed to drill their way out of the shield's surface.

His sword was now a Bardiche.

"You're fast. I'll give you that. Let's see how fast I can go." He gritted his teeth.

Little did the Rahkshi know, the very few seconds that passed while he had been shaping his weapon, he had been doing something else. Using his Iron powers he had been drawing every ounce of ore and metal under the ground. As much as he could get within a practical range. And merging them together, into one solid platform. Rushing towards his feet. He lowered down, as if bracing for an attack from the approaching Rahkshi.

The platform reached his feet, already propelling him beyond as fast as he could run. He leapt. He accelerated further. To be honest, this felt like as fast as he'd ever gone before. Racing towards the metal beast, he drew his legs in behind his shield, his eyes barely showing above the shield's top. He shot his Bardiche out around the edge towards it as he came down on the Rahkshi at tremendous speed.

OOC: Attacking the Elasticity Rahkshi. I've also boldened other things I feel are important. Only the last one is his attack, the others are related, though.

  • IC: Trava (Mangaia, Rahkshi fight)

Trava made a mental note to thank the guy who tossed all the lightstones out onto the floor, once the fight was over. Seeing the glowing crystals clutter across the floor with their bright glow was a very literal bright spot for her down here, and considering she usually considered the light they gave off "too fake" for her tastes, that's really saying something.

Trava advanced on the Elasticity Rahkshi yet again, coming from the opposite side as Arvas was. With the slightly increased brightness around them, she could spot Arvas coming down on the Rahkshi from above, and decided to lend him a hand.

She swung her staff at the Rahkshi's side, aiming to strike its arm and distract it from defending itself from Arvas' attack.

  • OOC:

Sorry for the delay; been busy and sort of forgot about this.

    Anyhow, back to battle!

    IC:

Situated as I am, more or less safely on the outer fringes of Peho's elemental flame attack, I am essentially unaffected by the blast. My armor is enough to negate any actual damage; a quick, instinctive shielding movement of my left forearm protects my eyes.

Toshiko isn't quite so lucky; the Vortixx's sharp cry of pain is enough to tell me that. But I dare not shift my attention too much away from the vague shifting mirage that is the Chameleon Rahkshi.

When it halts, I point at it with my knife. "He's right... there. Not movin'. Peho, you could try--"

    Guys!"

    ######

"--another blast, just like that, and Toshiko keep your eyes on the ######! I'll cover Volin!"

As I bark these 'suggestions', I'm already pivoting into a blue-and-grey blur of motion, head down muscles humming legs driving at the stone, a tightly-controlled rush of crackling speed that has me back across the combat zone and at Volin's side in seconds.

I don't in any way intend to go on the offensive at this point; I'm just hoping for a solid defensive counteraction. The main idea here is to help blunt the Anger Rahkshi's momentum with my own, just enough (and for just long enough) to allow Volin and I an orderly withdrawal into safer territory and a bit closer to our allies.

  • IC: Rannin

It was only through the rapid manifestation of a sheet of silver before him that Rannin avoided most of the harm of the wild laser strikes, given his proximity to the Rahkshi, but one or two made it past his guard, digging a noticeable channel into his pauldron and nicking parts of his damaged arm. A slight hiss escaped from behind his mask. There was pain in the blow, but the danger of the wild beasts they were fighting demanded that he not hesitate. Not even once.

    "Oceanna, learn subtlety."

The command (for that was what it was, Rannin's baritone delivery harsher than usual) was accompanied by another step forwards as he sought to capitalise on the position they had pushed the Rahkshi of Laser Vision into. Hence why immediately after both Oceanna and Flabbergaster launched their own attacks, the Toa of Iron swung vertically down at the monster's form, seeking to slice or crush its head off.

  • IC: Rahkshi Hunters

By now, the Rahkshi of Elasticity knew its battle was fought on two fronts. Trava never left its sight as it approached Arvas, following the Lesterin’s movement out of the corner of its eye in the event of an attack. Sure enough, she timed her strike to match Arvas’ counter-offensive, forcing the Rahkshi to tear its attention away from the Toa and parry her blow with a swing of its own. It spun back around with uncanny speed to block Arvas’ shield, but not quickly enough to take note of the bardiche poking out from the side. The weapon slipped past and cut a sizeable gash on the Rahkshi’s side, fissuring its armour in a shower of sparks. Forward momentum sent the two tumbling to the ground, and when Arvas began scrambling to his feet, an elastic punch to the face sent him reeling away and gave the Rahkshi the time it needed to get back up.

By the second it located Trava, she was already taking advantage of the situation by moving in with another attack, swinging directly for its face this time. Panic rippled through her when the Rahkshi caught her staff single-handedly, its iron grip refusing to let go when she tried to pull away. Finally, the Rahkshi tore the staff out of her hand and in the very next instant, bamboo violently struck her face. Despite the sudden pain and lights dancing in her vision, she stabilized her footing and set the Rahkshi back in her sights, only to watch it snap her staff in two underneath its heel and throw one end across the chamber.

The Chameleon Rahkshi remained rooted in place, unflinching and unmoving in the face of the scattered lightstones. The light illuminated the tunnel a good deal enough for everyone to see a little better, and the camouflaged Rahkshi wasn’t as difficult to find anymore.

Already on one knee, the Rahkshi of Laser Vision swatted away the dirt reaching for its arms but felt it tug against his legs, holding it in place. Flabbergaster took up Oceanna’s distraction by pinning the Rahkshi down from the side, feeling his arms shaking as it pushed back, quickly overpowering him. It twisted its body ever so slightly in the process, just enough to get a good look at the Tiokaha and lay into him with a laser beam. He howled as white hot pain flooded his senses, causing him to falter and let the Rahkshi shrug him off.

Flabbergaster’s efforts weren’t in vain, however. Rannin closed in the very next moment, cleaving off the Rahkshi’s right forearm, removing a piece of its faceplate, and splitting its staff in two when it attempted to defend itself. Ready to move in for the killing blow, he was interrupted by a laser beam to the chest which caused him to stagger mid-swing and miss his target. Instantly, the Rahkshi bolted out of its restraints and took flight, speeding right for Oceanna with murder in its eyes and half a staff in one hand. As if to initiate the chase, it fired a bright red laser in her direction.

Concerning the Rahkshi of Anger, Hammerlock could only do so much to stall its advance. As Volin backed away, he watched the Lesterin bob and weave around the monster, dodging its furious onslaught with the grace of a skilled boxer. He took the opportunity to load another bolt into his crossbow, careful to stay aware of what lay behind him while doing so. When he looked back up, Hammerlock was being held off the ground by the neck, struggling to break free with little progress, though that ended when a sort of black mist enveloped his body and was absorbed into it. The Lesterin went limp and was tossed aside like a doll, showing no signs of conscience as he landed on the ground.

A chill ran through Volin’s spine. The Rahkshi roared triumphantly, writhing its body in a disturbing display of rage unique only to itself. The battle wasn’t won though, its little celebration cut short by yet another bull-like rush from its account. Volin fired again, a loud thunk heralding the success of his attack as the bolt imbedded itself in the Rahkshi’s abdomen. However, the Rahkshi showed no signs of slowing, not even the slightest reaction, and in that moment, Volin knew.

    #####.

...When Hammerlock came to, anger unlike anything he had ever felt before meshed with every fibre of his being to the point where it practically seethed out of his pores. He stood up gradually, the pain around his neck stoking the fires of a primal rage within him, and everywhere he looked he was seeing red. Despite the dense haze of emotion, he remembered the Rahkshi and attempted to locate it. When he found the creature, he saw blood. Lots of it. A trail on the ground led to Volin, and it kept going as he backed away from the Rahkshi, crimson red oozing from his left arm.

At least, where his arm used to be.

  • OOC:Huh, okay. Wasn't counting on it being able to stop the full mass of an airborne, high-velocity Toa, but okay. My plan might still work. And I have been waiting to do this. Only hope it works.

    IC: Arvas

Arvas flexed his jaw as he stepped back from the punch, watching as the Rahkshi snapped Trava's staff. Rude.

"Well, Rahkshi. This doesn't seem to be going all too far, does it?" He growled. Sure, he hadn't knocked it down, although he'd given it a nice, deep gash on its side. But, the important thing was, he had turned the beast around. Excellent. Hopefully. As everyone returned to a battle stance and Arvas spoke, his iron powers kicked into action, any sign of him using them hidden behind his shield. The iron pillar which had sent him flying at the Rahkshi, now behind the metal beast, seemed to become almost liquid, if you could see it in the darkness. It snaked like a forming river across the ground, towards the Rahkshi, slowing down as it neared it.

"Now, I'll admit, machine might beat muscle. That much isn't hard to see. But here's the thing..." The liquid-like iron reared up behind the Rahkshi, almost reaching its full height, but staying low enough to avoid being noticed.

"IRON BEATS RUBBER." The words themselves were almost sharp enough to cut something with. As if on call, the iron whipped around the Rahkshi, closing in like a snake going in for the kill, rapidly turning into a cocoon leaving only the head exposed with no room to move as the iron returned to a thick, solid state.

    Dude... So uncool.

Flabbergaster snarled at the massive burn on his chest which was already burning from the inside as his lungs worked overtime. Glancing at Rannin, he snatched up the other half of the Rahkshi staff off of the ground, and then ran at the wall, kicking off of it and sprinting past Oceanna, skidding to a stop a couple yards away from the Anger Rahkshi, and pelting dirt into its field of vision as he did so.

However, his weight betrayed him, and instead of skidding gracefully to a stop, the momentum carried him forward, picking him off of the ground where the two miniature trenches ended and into the approaching Rahkshi.

Oceanna didn't even have to think about running away, the moment she saw the bright red laser heading her direction she bolted. She could feel the heat of the laser as she flew faster than she ever had away from the Rahkshi. She glanced behind her as she flew around the cavern, she didn't have much time to think of a plan, but she quickly formed a very simple goal in her mind, fly towards Rannin. If she could get the Rahkshi to follow her close enough to be in striking distance of Rannin then perhaps he could do something about the Rahkshi. Still she needed a way to subtly let Rannin in on this plan....

She welcomed the challenge, and let the sense invigorate her to keep going.

    Welcome back, old friend.

And it's moving, this devil, this weapon, moving with me as I blur into the stroke and my muscles hum with exertion. So fast I can't see it, so fast--  so fast the fluxing semi-solid particles split the sound barrier and the ugly crack sings loud against the dark.

And someone's laughing, hard and cold and just a bit ###### insane.

    It might be me.

I am drunk with speed and fury.

  • IC: Rannin

Rannin hissed in pain, staggering back a step as he moved a hand towards where the laser had struck his torso. His armour had taken the brunt of the blow, but under the intense heat of the attack, it had melting through several layers into a hole, the oozing metallic protodermis that had melted away burning against now-exposed organic components. He poured energies through his arm, rapidly forming several layers over the wound, sheet upon sheet of metal quickly covering up the vulnerability. It still hurt, the heat still noticeable against him, but the metals he had produced with his powers would keep it safe for now. Not as well as actual armour, but it would do its job. He had made sure to thicken it, and that was better than nothing.

He glanced up at the situation. Oceanna was being targeted by the Rahkshi. The creature that was accompanying them ... Flabbergaster, that one had launched a strange attack upon their flying enemy. And ... was Oceanna now flying towards him?

The Toa of Iron gripped tightly onto his sword. What was her plan? Leading it into one of his swings? That would be difficult to time.

The Rahkshi had lost a large portion of its headpiece already.

    What could he do?

He gripped tightly onto the hilt of his broadsword. Maybe ...

One finger lifted up, pointing towards the Rahkshi behind Oceanna.

    Visualise the target.

    Calculate the trajectory.

    Point and shoot.

A needle of iron, sharp and long, shot through the air, skimming past his fighting companion and heading directly towards the vulnerability in the Rahkshi's headpiece.

"Oceanna," he said, sword now positioned. "Come up with a plan in case this fails!"

"Yes I did." the Vortixx simply replied. "Since it was a joint decision."

She didn't offer anything more than that as explanation - at least not yet. Launching into a justification why they had given out half of Ko-Koro's riches before Echelon explained why he was unhappy with that little act of generosity would put her into a weakened position to argue from right from the start. First, she wanted to know what his problem was.

Keeping her expression neutral, she met his glowy green gaze with a purple glance of her own.

Between the Rahkshi and Volin, meaning that he was perpendicular to Hammerlock and his rage-induced lightning-sword strike-in-the-making, there landed a massive Toa who, for the sake of brevity and since there is only so much description that can placed into the arrival of an oversized amnesiac, shall imply be called "Peho with his sword drawn and ready."

"Volin," he said, blue eyes staring down the monstrosity in front of him. "Stay behind me."

Startled, the Rahkshi of elasticity snarled when the iron sprung up and coiled around it. The cocoon creaked and shuddered as the Rahskhi thrashed against it, yet held firmly enough to give Trava the time she needed to line up a shot. Distracted by its bonds, the Rahskhi only remembered the Lesterin’s presence when her dart suddenly embedded itself in the cheek of its faceplate, looking rather comical as it stuck out. Seeing the Rahkshi trapped, Trava’s plans for a false swipe rapidly shifted towards thoughts of an actual attack. All she had to do was step forward, jam her knife in its eye, and that would be the end. It was a golden opportunity.

    Or so she thought.

Just as she stepped forward and brought the knife up, the Rahkshi’s head rapidly snaked out and bit into her forearm, sinking its teeth deep into her flesh and nearly forcing her to drop her knife. Breaking free without causing further serious injury, she shuddered as the rest of the Rahkshi’s body squeezed out from the cocoon’s tiny hole, contorting and stretching at impossible angles but at the cost of leaving its staff entombed. Slowly regaining its composition, it stood tall once more and advanced. Arvas, still present with the option to strike from behind, moved in.

The Rahkshi, however, knew that he was coming this time. Whirling around, it knocked the Fe-Toa to the ground with another elastic punch and didn’t waste a second to pounce on him. Before Arvas could even react, a hail of iron fists came beating down on him, hammering his face, his ribs, anywhere they could reach. Throwing up his arms to defend himself was all he could do to shelter himself from the torrent of pain, until, miraculously, it stopped. After a moment of relative silence, Arvas peeked out from an emerging black eye and noticed that the Rahkshi was still. Lifeless. A knife was wedged deep into its eye and blood dripped from its socket onto his face. Trava suddenly kicked the carcass to the side and held a helping hand for Arvas to take.

The laser Rahkshi was right on Oceanna’s tail, slowly but surely catching up to her. Its eyes began to glow red, followed by a whitehot beam of light that struck Oceanna full-on in the back, causing her to lose focus and control of her flight. It was enough to slow her down, and just as the Rahkshi got within slashing distance, Rannin fired. Instantly, the Rahkshi went limp and came crashing down to the ground, apparently dead.

Hesitantly, Rannin rushed over to inspect the Rahkshi. Through the gap in its faceplate, he could see the metallic green slug impaled cleanly by his metal spike. It twitched with the spasms of a dying animal, making a wet gargling noise instead of a hiss. Within a few seconds of further observation, the Kraata died.

Hammerlock’s electric blade sent sparks flying when it collided with the anger Rahkshi’s hip joint, scorching the metal and breaking it down as he relentlessly drove his blade in. His maniacal laughter intensified when he forced it onto its knees, and his fury showed no signs of slowing. He tackled the Rahkshi onto its stomach and pinned it down, proceeding to melt a hole in its back by keeping the blade in continuous contact with its armour. Eventually, the plating gave way and exposed the Kraata, which he stabbed repeatedly.

His madness only wore off a few moments after the creature’s death, and in the sudden clarity restored to his mind, he realized was drenched in blood.

The chameleon rahkshi, seeing its brethren fall one by one, turned tail and flew off into the right-side path. Toshiko watched for any signs of ambush, though it didn’t appear the Rahkshi would be making a return anytime soon.

For now, it appeared that the hunters had won.

    IC:Arvas

    Ow.

Arvas coughed as he sat up, taking Travas hand before picking up his weapon and shield.

"Yeah, thanks. Hopefully it isn't playing dead." Arvas grunted, driving his blade through the creature's head to be sure. The unreasonably angry one and the one that shot lasers followed suit too. The chameleon one had vanished.

"Okay, everyone still alive and moving?" He called.

Tripping over the Laser Rahkshi the moment it fell, he stood to watch it die and then stared down the path that the chameleon Rahkshi took. He had made the mistake of activating his Rau while the Rahkshi died, and a hundred worrying and dreadful thoughts came into his mind.

Now he was watching down the tunnel as if the fourth would suddenly return, no thought to the multiple large burns and the several stabs on his body. One hand quivered by his knife, the Rahkshi spear having been dropped when he tripped.

"The Rahkshi certainly isn't," noted Rannin dispassionately, although there was a certain levity to his words. Given that they had merely moments ago defeated a number of Rahkshi with far less injuries than what was expected of engaging in combat with the foul monsters, some levity was appreciated.

Indeed, the horrid creature was dead at his feet, the slug Kraata (the organism that appeared to act as a mind for the suit of snarling metal) no longer moving within the remains of its helm. Taking out the head of the beasts would neutralise them immediately, but it could not be entirely relied upon. It had taken three of them to down one Rahkshi; they were not to be underestimated.

"Oceanna," he said, baritone voice echoing towards his fallen comrade. "Are you fine?"

There had been searing pain across Oceanna's back, that's what Oceanna could remember, after that her memory got a little fuzzy. She groaned as her senses returned to her and she got her bearings. At some point she must have crashed onto the ground, because she was lying face first on the ground with the dirt and rocks. Her had a really awful head ache, and her back stung like a ######. But she was alive, that was a plus.

She slowly rose to a sitting position, she wasn't too confident that should could stand just yet, that was about when she heard Rannin call her name. "I'm okay...I think." She gasped as she remembered something important, her guitar! She'd been holding it before she'd crashed...where was it!? She looked around frantically till she spotted the shiny protosteel instrument, scrambling over towards it. She picked it up and looked it over, thankfully it seemed undamaged, she hugged it in relief. "I really need a real weapon for this kind of work..."

It was then she looked over at the now quite dead Rahkshi of Laser Vision. "Staff..." Oceanna secured her guitar onto her back, wincing as she did so, before walking over to the corpse of said Rahkshi and picking the two halves of the broken staff up. "Hmmmm this might do."

Putting his shield back on his back and returning his weapon to its normal longsword format, Arvas picked up the dead Elasticity Rahkshi and slung the metal beast over his shoulder, yanking its spear from the metal cocoon that hadn't worked quite as well as he'd hoped.

Nobody seemed to be a dead body just yet. If anyone was hurt, this wasn't the best place to deal with it.

"Alright, so uh, who wants to turn around and leave with what we've got?" He called.

"I don't know about you, Arvas, but I'm kind of bleeding out."

Volin sat on the ground, applying pressure to his stump. Blood trickled out of him and slowly oozed onto the ground, painting it crimson while he gradually lost colour in his face. The pain was unlike anything he'd ever felt before, forcing him into sharp breaths while he willed himself to not pass out, something he couldn't keep up for long if he didn't get any help soon.

"If someone could grab the tourniquet and bandages out of my backpack before I die, that'd be ####ing swell."

Oceanna's eyes bulged as she saw Volin's arm. "Oh my ###### god." She ran over to him, putting her newly acquired staff pieces down as she practically tore into Volin's backpack to pull out the tourniquet and bandages. She then wordlessly began to wrap the bandages around Volin's stub with surprising skill.

"Well people don't just stand there ###### help me!" She called to the others.

Flabbergaster gave a silent snarl towards the intrusion upon his thoughts that was Volin, but immediately snapped back into reality at the sight of a pool of blood that wasn't his own. Oceanna was blowing her top over it, asking for help with something clearly nobody could assist with.

His walk over towards the wounded was not exactly swift, but hurried nonetheless. "I'll help him back once you have it secured" Flabbergaster said, a rapid stream of thoughts on the proper plant or sap to use for such a situation. "In the meantime," He turned towards the other figures, a much more frightening and serious expression on his face. "There's going to be more of them, possibly soon. Do what you can to take them and everything they have and return as fast as you can go; we will not be stopping for any reason."

He didn't wait to hear any excuses or questions, instead locking eyes on the wound and nitpicking quietly at all the miniature mistakes with the bandages.

It was only when Arvas actually arrived at the scene that he remembered that he had no idea how to deal with lost limbs, and Oceanna was already bringing it under some degree of control. Where Guitar Girl had learnt such skills, Arvas neither knew nor cared.

"Ah heck..." Was the only thing that escaped his lips at the scene. Flabbergaster mentioned others. Other Rahkshi.

"He's right, more of them are in there, in all likelihood. If you're fine, keep your guard up and your eyes peeled. If anyone else has their own potentially life threatening injuries they'd like to mention, now would be a good time." He added, drawing his sword and keeping his eyes on the inky blackness deeper down, staying close.

Peho was uncharacteristically quiet when Toshiko came onto the scene, and for a long moment he simply stared straight ahead into the darkness of the tunnel, sword drawn and held in hands numb with adrenaline. For a long moment, the big guy didn't say anything at all. He didn't trust himself to say anything, not really. He didn't even trust himself to turn and look at the Vortixx.

    But somehow, he still did.

The bandages and tourniquet worked like a charm. The steady ooze of blood came to a dripping halt, and while it didn't make Volin feel any better, he wasn't getting any worse, which was all he could hope for at the moment. When Oceanna finished, he held up her patchwork for examination, looking it over like he was only seeing it for the first time.

Whatever pain he felt before, it didn't compare to what he was feeling now.

"Thanks," he said numbly, tearing his eyes away. "Help me up?"

If Oceanna was expecting to do the job, her hopes were cut short. The massive hand of the Tiokaha was a tad quicker on impulse, and was extended in a gentle fashion for the warrior who had just lost part of himself.

Unaware of a small burn on his palm, the large being suddenly felt a strange impulse; a natural sign that his body was in desperate need of a life-sustaining element of regeneration for the blood cells.

She'd have to have someone check how bad it was later, right now they needed to get out of there.
