"Wouldn't dream of it" a muffled voice came from the other room as the noise of someone rummaging around in storage began to give echo.

The door eventually opened, to reveal Colx with a large, spiked club in one hand, and a zamor launcher in the other.

"I probably won't need this, but I brought it for good luck" he said as he put the Zamor launcher away on a nearby table.

Vrina saw the swing coming and dodgeded it. But she did not manage to dodge it fully for it nicked her right in the front sending her flying a bit, She reversed the grips on her rapiers and dug them into the mat bring her to a stop before she summoned her control over crystal and shot darts of crystal from the crystal armor on her shoulders. These shared were like mini daggers, pointed to a lethal degree

    "Nice trick."

Her eyes flicked to the opposite side of the mat and caught side of something that she grinned

I am so glad that fell out.

“I need to go do…” I waved my hand vaguely. “Somethin’ important.” And I spun on my heel again and sauntered away in the general direction of Iraira’s cabin. I think I remembered being hired to work for her personally, or something of that sort. It was past time I found out what that job entailed.

  • IC: Captain Commander Iraira, 3-days Southeast of Lewa-Landing

Iraira began to shake her head at Matra’s question, then nodded after a pensive breath. “Watch your back around Kordo and Verak,” she admitted. “They don’t respect the singularity of a crew. Any minute one of them could decide to flay someone limb from limb and not think about the consequences in their pea-brained minds before turning my aft deck red just for fun. Look at Verak: he cuts the topsail in the storm, for Mata-Nui’s sake. Next he’ll be boring a hole through the below to look at fishes. You know, I shouldn’t have said that: now it’s out there.” She groaned and placed a tired hand to her mask’s brow. She gave a languished sigh, then rose up from her wooden throne and walked back around the desk. Her feet creaked on the wooden floorboards, adding to the small ramblings of sounds produced by The Invincible at sea.

“You’re free to go get some food and take up night watch on the bow,” Iraira added as she placed her hand on the iron door handle; “Sorry for troubling you, but I thought it’d be something you should know. And you’re words put me at ease.” Pushing her thumb down, the latch opened and swung outward. There was a yelp and the clatter of someone hitting the deck. Peeking around, Iraira stifled a grin.

“Oh, sorry there Private. Shouldn’t you be working on your knots with Lt. Shajs instead of skulking around my cabin door?” Letting Matra pass, she returned to her cabin with the audible grind of the lock. Letting herself have a little chuckle at her vengeance, she settled herself into the carved wood of her chair and planned throughout the night.

--Kumu-Islets, Dawn on the 4th day S. by S.E. of Lewa Landing--

Logbook in hand, she stared into the morning sun with a small smile of success. Light glittered off her armor as the fiery orb rose from its ocean home to run across the sky, passing his baton to the moon. As a matoran, Iraira had always believed the story of the Moon and the Sun being Mata-Nui’s eyes. The moon was weaker in light, because it had been given up as payment for the Well of Wisdom. As a toa, not much had changed in her worldview, except the hut she used to live in was far too small to stand in. Things had been simple and still, like the placid water stretching for nautical miles around her ship. It was as if The Invincible had fallen into a pane of deep blue glass. Iraira could almost see the bottom: marble structures and metal glittering from the depths. Turning away from the starboard rail, Iraira looked at the few members of her crew up and working.

“Kordo, go stick your head down the hatch and let the crew know we’ve arrived. I want everyone on deck for a few minutes. No, I’m not gonna tie you up again. Come on, snap to it Private!” She shook her head as the taller vortixx scampered off to complete his mission, then opened the logbook.

Inside was her life as a marine, but that was not what concerned her. The weathered piece of paper slipped from the binding with a gentle tug, and she smiled at the faded surface of the letter as she read to herself. He would have been proud of today, Iraira realized as her emerald opticals dimmed. Shouldering the burden of the past and embracing the future, Captain Iraira returned the letter to the logbook and waited for her crew to assemble. First would be the speech, and then the adventure would begin.

  • IC- Verak - The Invincible

“Wahooo!” I exclaimed with excitement, vaulting over cannons and miscellaneous crates in my hurry to get to the deck. I had been spending most of the voyage playing hide and seek with some of the senior crew members as they tried to get me to obey Iraira’s orders and practice some knots. Even though I did get beaten into submission a couple times, and had to endure living Karzhani for a couple hours, I had managed to avoid my sailorly duties quite well.

But there’s only so much to do on a small lump of wood, and the prospect that this voyage was finally over filled me with joy. I burst onto the deck before anyone else, a broad smile on my face as I looked across the still ocean waters. In the distance, coloured silver by the moonlight, were the few remnants of the once glorious town of Xa-Koro. The few rocky crags and the lonely lighthouse did not properly capture the essence of the town had been. It had been a glorious criminal’s haven, the place to go for anyone wishing to pick up a mercenary job, gamble away their earnings, or get into a fight in a dark alley. I still miss it kinda.

Anyway, that’s where we were diving, right? This should be fun. Ancient ruins always have excitement in them, don’t they? We’re sure to meet marine rahi and old traps or something. I cracked my knuckles and crawled up onto the railing, looking out hungrily at the adventure ahead.

  • IC: [ Krios ] - The InvincibleThe tall, black-clad Vortixx stood at the rail, clawed right hand resting gently on the polished wood, cold blue eyes flat and emotionless as the brooding sea.He had returned at last. That lone lighthouse, that distinctive arrangement of the still-visible crags... how many times had he glanced up from the glow and bustle of a crowded tavern, through a small barred window, and watched them silhouette against the moon?Ah, Xa-Koro... city of darkness, city of legends. Undefeated in desolation, I imagine, if I know anything of your ways.He turned away, the slightest trace of pain flickering briefly across his reptilian features. It was a hard thing, to see one's homeland lost forever in the eternal depths of an endless sea... not that he had ever loved the place. It had been a jungle, that was certain, and he himself, a predator, but yet not one of the highest rank. He had been a jackal, a coyote, a opportunist... and he had done well. Even very well, considering the competition. His eyes moved, watching the crew members assemble in preparation for the arrival of Captain Iraira herself. They were an unpolished, rough-hewn lot, but strong and cunning. Rabble. Criminals. Survivors. And he himself had been counted among them. His mouth twisted briefly in a dry, lopsided smile. Counted among them, yes... and for the moment, I'll take that as a compliment.

He must have a weakness.. What is his weakness. Wait! That's it!

She gained a relatively wicked grin as she stared directly into Colx's eyes

"Oh i do not plan on stopping anytime soon."

She summoned a flurry of crystal shards towards Colx's eyes, she hoped that he would try and blast them away with his impact vision for while he is distracted with that she will summon a wall of crystal infront of Colx and threw one of her rapiers directly into the crystal, impaling it into the wall. From there she ran as fast as she could and jumped onto the rapier. She grabbed the handle of the blade while her other hand grabbed at the top of the crystal wall. She proppelled herself over the wall and pulled the rapier out at the same instant. This threw her over the wall and over Colx. With a swish of her outfit she landed right behind him and moved to grab one of her stilettos. It would take her several seconds to grab the stiletto.

Colx did indeed unleash his Impact vision to protect his eyes, though he caught a glimpse of Vrina vaulting over him. The problem was that he didn't see exactly where behind him she'd she landed, and that left him vulnerable.

Once Seria had been safely deposited on the bed, Cadias glanced around the Matoran's house. The small size of the furniture caught his eye- it wasn't as if he hadn't seen plenty of it before, but most of it had been in inns, alongside Toa-sized chairs and stools. Cadias smiled, almost imperceptibly. He had once owned a house not so very different from this one, before he became a Toa. It seemed so long ago.... how long had it actually been?
