"...but I'd stay vigilant. Never hurts to be carefully."

I found the Toa Avya had pointed out as Kethrye just as he was finishing up a conversation. I waited politely till he was done (manners are everything, right?), then approached him, hand outstretched.

"Toa Kethrye? I was directed to you by a Toa named Avya. My name is Xaro, and I'm interested in joining the Island Liberation Front."

    IC: Kethyre

Kethrye smiled in welcome, taking the hand vortixx's hand and shaking it. "Good to have you," he said, "We're in a bit of disarray at the moment and I apologize for that. We should be heading off to actually do something shortly, hopefully."

Ah, Xa-Koro. The scum, muck and filth of Mata Nuiian society, all rolled into one seedy little village. Home of gamblers and kingpins, and pirates, especially pirates. During his days as one, he and his crew were effectively citizens of the place. Their, he gambled and ate away his fortunes, bartered with arms merchants for the most expensive blades, and was known by name as a Skakdi about town, with ruthless raider surprisingly coming second to that.

Now, he was going to its grave.

Gathering his haversack, he climbed up to deck. Taking up a spot, he stood at attention as the others gathered around. He couldn't help but be thankful that they didn't have to see the village in its living state. That he was just a humble Marine, going to help his superior look at its reflection.

And so, he waited for Iraira to make her speech.

A group of unaligned prospectors slowly dug through the earth that they believed, contained protodermis. It wasn't long before one of their shovel's bounced off an object buried in the ground. It was what appeared to be part of a Kanohi mask. Of a design that the Matoran prospector had never seen before. Calling over his compatriots, they started to dig the mask out. As they did this, it was revealed that the mask was connected to a head, which was connected to a neck, which was connected to a body, which has all appendages attached to it. More interesting, was it's heartlight. Which glowed a sickly green, a shade that could've resembled rotting flesh. It's body made a slow ticking sound, reminding the Matoran who first recovered it of a clock. But at a much slower beat. Slow enough for a Le-Matoran to rattle off a short speech before the next ticking sound was heard.

    Status: Retrieved...

    Initiating Bootup Protocols...

The Being's eye's flashed open as the ticking sound grew much faster, and the whirring of gears could be heard from within its frame. Its Heartlight glowed even brighter as this happened, as the Being woke. The Matoran and his comrades quickly backed away as it stood upon its feet again, gazing straight forward.

Status: Online. No internal damage detected. Shell capacity is at 100%

    Status: Fully operational.

Notice: Lifeforms identified, attempting to determine origin.

The Being lazily turned to gaze at the Matoran, who realized with a shock, had eyes that were quite unlike their's. Instead, they seemed almost... Organic. But not just organic, they looked as if they had been rotting in the Being's eye socket while it slept. The Matoran quickly looked away, putting a hand over his mouth to prevent him from regurgitating his breakfast.

Notice: Lifeforms are recorded as such: 2x Matoran, 1x Toa.

Notice: Non-Essential Matoran and Non-Essential Toa are not allowed within the perimeter.

Alert: Intruders hath been identified. Intruders must be removed to ensure Island integrity.

    Status: Removing intruders.

The Being drew the item upon it's back, which the prospectors instantly identified as a Scythe. A Scythe made of bones, and as sharp as Protosteel.

"Intruders, Notice. Thou art given Five minutes to vacate this island. Otherwise, hostile action shall be taken upon thy physical form," The Being droned.

"Oh yeah? Who died and made you Akiri over the whole island?" The Toa growled, gripping the hilt of the weapon at his side."

"Notice, Weaponry is not allowed upon the premises," The Being replied, shifting his gaze to the Toa, who upon hearing this, promptly charged The Being.

Alert: This one is under assault. Unlocking gyro restraints.

A popping sound could be hear coming from the Being's body as the whirring sound increased in speed, and raised it's Scythe, and prepared itself to expel the intruders.

  • IC: NPC Le-Koro Wind-riderAt the Le-Koro/Onu-Koro landing pad, the Wind-rider dropped in, the insignia of Le-Koro emblazoned upon her upper arm band. Stepping off, Le-Koronians that worked at the newly constructed pad for Onu-Koro got up to check over the Gukko bird, as was protocol for the pad here to ensure that each mount was being treated properly. Kongu was particular about that sort of thing when members other than his Koro's Wind-riders were riding the birds. The Wind-rider smiled, and started over to an Onu-Koronian messenger having just finished up his own round on his own escort."Hello friend! I'm here to take this parcel to Onu-Koro, and your Akiri Nuparu," she lifted up the package for the Onu-Koronian to see, "It seems that we'll be going to the same place; I am instructed to stay in Onu-Koro until I receive a response from Nuparu or a liaison."The letter would read:

    :0: :5:

    Akiri Nuparu of Onu-Koro,

Today I write to you in hopes that you may wish meet with myself and the other five Akiri. I feel that since we each lost our Turaga, there have arisen issues that have gone unresolved between villages. In that sense, I think it is important to think and speak of what is being done or could be done about it.

If you have anything that you'd like to add or bring to the table, please think before the meeting on things you wish to discuss.

A similar letter is being written to each of the other five Akiri of Mata-Nui. I propose we meet in a neutral ground; The Kini-Nui. Please ensure that you prepare for the presence of Rahkshi in the area for the duration of the meeting. It is pertinent that each member of the party feel safe here. Speaking of feeling secure, please keep in mind how simple actions like protecting one's self in the environment could translate to threatening issues for those that are less comfortable. I would rather nobody at this meeting get hurt, so please adjust your protection accordingly.Thank you for your time, and I look forward to speaking with you,

    IC:

The Gukko rider returned to Le-Koro with Nuparu's message in her satchel. She landed her bird deftly, dismounted, and handed the letter to her supervisior, exchanging it for a new charge. She was in the air again quickly with the replacement package; meanwhile, the supervisor packed the letter into a small tube, and deposited the tube into Le-Koro's system of courier pipes. The message quickly found its way to Akiri Kongu.

    Akiri Kongu,

I shall be happy to attend the council you've proposed. I will be present to represent the perspectives of my Koro. For my security, choice members of the Ussalry will accompany me, though I can assure you that they will not be the inciters of any violence.

Thank you for proposing this meeting; I believe that it will be an enlightening and benefical one.

  • OOC: Kapura is dead. All Chronicler's Company members are confirmed deceased.

    IC Viima

    (Le-Wahi):

Even as the murderer Toa kept travelling, silently and invisible through the jungle, Viima kept a careful eye on all disruptions in amongst the trees. It was painfully difficult to follow his quarry. For multiple times he had been sure he had lost him - but a clue would then be offered by the forest. Viima knew Le-Wahi better than most beings alive, even compared to the other Le-Matoran due to his hunter's life. This knowledge gave him an edge in tracking Him that he could not compare to.

The general direction of the Toa seemed to be towards Ta-Wahi. Viima knew tracking Him would become much harder for him when in the volcanic region, which was why he picked up speed. Silently, he swinged from vine to vine, hoping to find a way to keep up with the Toa in the ashy ground of the district ahead.

With mechanical precision, it cleaned the fluids off the scythe. It did this methodically, checking each centimeter for blood stains and dulling of the Protosteel blade. As it finished, it stood and quickly surveyed the massacre that had just happened. Each of it's kills was clean, simple. Just the way it liked. The slicing of a jugular, or the quick crushing of internal organs. It was saddened by the weakness of the Matoran's outer frames. They seem to have grown soft as time had passed, nothing like the far stronger Matoran it had existed alongside with. Replacing the weapon on it's back, it held out a hand, almost as if it was reaching for the bodies that had once had glowing Heartlights several minutes ago. It's fingers then clenched into a fist as the Earth reached up and swallowed the bodies, leaving no trace of their existence here. It was satisfied that it had done this. The bodies would rot, and in their rot they would provide nutrients for the plant-life, which would feed the Rahi.

The circle of life would continue, because the three souls that hand been sent to the afterlife today by Death's guiding hand.

The ancient Toa of Earth spun on it's heel as it started to head south. One of the Matoran promised him profit from a place called 'Le-Koro'. While he had no intention to obtain any sort of material goods, he had the fullest intent to learn what changes had happened to the island, and if needed, remove the intruders.

  • OOC: OFFER TO INTERACT TAKEN

    because bored

    IC-Milost:

Milost frowned. To the hunter, something seemed...wrong, in the area. The rahi that would normally be found seemed to avoid this place, and there was an odd scent in the air...

Milost's eyes narrowed. He knew that scent - it was the smell of blood.

Slowly, he slid his long-bladed nagamaki out of its sheathe, holding it loosely in one hand. If death had so recently occurred here, he had best remain ready for the killer to attempt to show himself again. For now, though, Milost was hunter, and not hunted; he would find the site of battle, and he would find the one who had survived it.

Coming to a small clearing, he stopped - the earth looked as though it had been recently overturned, and blood stained one of the trees nearby. He didn't need to check to figure that the bodies had been buried - what was of more interest to him was the seeming excavation spot nearby, with a hole that looked large enough to hold a Toa. Again...this wasn't good. Possibly there had been more than one combatant, one raised by a Tryna, or some ground dwelling Rahi had jumped out. However, now, Milost had a trail - southwards, towards the Koro.

Slipping onto a nearby game trail, the hunter quickly moved to follow his quarry - it was foolish to follow the trail that his target had so recently made, as when dealing with sapient beings - which this was one - they would be like to check back and make sure they weren't followed. So he stalked along this trail to the side, his eyes watching through tree cover as he advanced upon his prey.

About five miles from the Koro he found the being - tall, with dark armour, likely a Toa of Earth. Milost debated simply tossing a knife into the Toa's neck, and ending him there, but he wanted answers, not simple retaliation - so he stepped from the foliage, his blade levelled in the direction of the Toa of Earth, his cold eyes glaring at the being.

"I would recommend you stop moving," he said, his quiet voice carrying to the tall Toa who stood before him. "And keep your hands away from any weapons - I don't wish to fight, I wish to speak. Am I understood?"
